The Need
Assist Children, Women and Families
Since it’s inception in 1996, the Habit of the Heart Fund has granted over $600,000 to provide children, women and families with items such as eyeglasses, hearing aids, wheelchairs, dental work, clothing, shoes, transportation, medication, tutoring, and other essential requests as approved by the HOTH Grant Committee.
Guidance counselors, school nurses, teachers, and Family Promise staff are seeing an increasing need for assistance with basic items that are critical to enabling students to succeed.
We are finding that members in our community at large are identifying increased needs for children, women and families in Hendricks County as well.
The Grant Committee receives requests for emergent needs that “fall through the cracks” and are not covered by other assistance agencies.
